Why the Crucible is a Terrible Funny
What is Tragic funny? Have you ever been dancing in the woods … naked, while a colored foreign woman sings songs with just comprised words that start and end with the letter B? If so, you are to be hanged for witch craft without any question. They were so clueless about having a problem in their town that it went way too far and they didn’t really think things through all the way. Individuals would simply run around telling the authorities that so and so is a witch.
They would be removed and hanged for no factor. There was no proof about them being witches or nobody went into more investigation. Let’s take a minute and truly think about how the disaster in Salem really began. A group of girls blind to what they are doing by dancing around a big pot and just so occurs to get naked. No huge deal right? Individuals who hung there had no evidence saying they practiced witch craft. There was truly no proof what the women had done that night or what they were doing.
The men in charge were truly fast to jump to conclusions. Without any trial of any examination of any sort they just had their mind set on that they were witches. People accused of witch craft by anybody else generally had no possibility at all because, there never truly would be a trial for them. The individual accusing the other individual of being a witch might be easily making it all up. They never asked the witness for evidence of what they supposedly saw tragic funny.
It was always the excellent people that were penalized and individuals that in fact practiced witch craft were the ones lying saying they witnessed the good people practicing witch craft. The young ladies that started the whole Salem witch trials lied, and they started to show it when few of the girls started to inform the reverends the fact, but were influenced back into the lie by the other ladies again. Another factor that says the young girls were lying is they blamed the witch craft on people that hurt them, or has the guy they like.
Likewise revealed they were lying when a few of them took all of their parent’s cash and ran away on a boat in the middle of the night. The conclusion of my perspective is that this whole thing was method hyperbolized by the reverends and men in charge. People were so terrified of the reality that the concept of people practicing witchcraft remains in their town. Including the greater up guys position were being questioned so they needed to show to the general public they had it under control by hanging innocent accused people.
These bad innocent people were fortunate to be offered two choices: admit to practicing witch craft and be free but hung with that credibility, or die for not admitting to it. In these times people literally lived by the bible and they strongly thought that if they lied they were going to hell, so these individuals were not going to confess and lie so they swallowed their pride and craved no reason at all. With that being said this story sounds like a tragic funny to me.
