Starbucks is an American global public corporation which specializes in production of coffee andother beverages. The business headquarters are in Seattle, Washington, U.S. The company was founded in 1971, by Jerry. Currently the company has a total of 150,000 employees, with almost 21,000 locations in over 61 countries. The company’s location mostly serves hot and cold beverages, full leaf tea, pastries and snacks (Newman, Amy, Ober, and Scot, 2013, pp342). Evening locations mostly serves beers, wines and also small bites.

Many of Starbucks products usually depend on the centre and location of the company’s branch. Some of the company’s products like brand ice cream are offered in various groceries and stores all over the world. In my research, I used document analysis as my method of investigation. I reviewed the existing documentation of comparable Starbucks business system in my attempt to extract pieces of information that was important for my research. I used existing document to source my understanding of key functions, business culture, and general Starbuck entity attributes.

Starbuck Company mainly uses various communication methods to communicate information that is either negative or positive regarding the inner working of management, finance, and interpersonal dealings. One of the key strength of Starbuck Company is its effective use of interpersonal communication. Whenever the senior managers need cooperation, they use interpersonal communication rather than mass media (Newman, Amy, Ober, and Scot, 2013, pp331). The company directly applies interpersonal communication to sell its ideas to venture capitalist.

Here they directly speak their ideas and opinions to interested ventures. After the buyout, the company also uses interpersonal communication to contact its employees and get their ideas. Instead of advertising; the company opts to use interpersonal communication, because its leaders believe that word of mouth is far more powerful than advertising (Newman, Amy, Ober, and Scot, 2013, pp312). Communication at Starbuck Company is exceptionally successful. In an attempt to ensure transparency in the organization, the company has taken immense steps in concentrating on provision of sound direction of communication.

To achieve this successful communication, the company has adopted various communication strategies that have proved to be effective. One of these communication strategies is the adoption of a channel communication (Newman, Amy, Ober, and Scot, 2013, pp302). This type of organization communication gives opportunity to the firm’s employees to actively air out their opinions, ideas, and contributions. The organization communication does not only end to the company employees, rather Starbucks communication extends to customers and general public as well.

The company always uses various available technologies, and its trained employees to communicate to its customers and the general public about its plans, products, and vision (Newman, Amy, Ober, and Scot, 2013, pp252). A lot of information is also posted in the company’s website for the customers and public to access and know get the information they are in need of about the company. Organization culture Through its culture of creating high value products and its adoption of distinct marketing strategies, Starbuck Company has established itself as one of the famous global entity.

The company’s culture of allowing its employees to confront with its customers with an intention of helping them in case of any difficulties has seen it rapidly expand in various continents (Newman, Amy, Ober, and Scot, 2013, pp142). This company’s cultures always uphold values that reach every corner of this company; and reach the external communities as well. This implies that for any employees to be successful in his career at Starbuck, then he or she should have a vast knowledge of all the company’s products (Newman, Amy, Ober, and Scot, 2013, pp232).

The employees should also posses good skills and knowledge that will help them to effectively engage with the company’s customers as they will regularly be expected to avail necessary assistance to the customers.Lastly, the Starbuck employees should have necessary skills to effectively apply interpersonal communication skills .This is because, interpersonal skills is the main type of communication mainly adopted and encouraged by the Starbucks senior management. Implications of findings for one wishing to engage in a business relationship with Starbuck Company According to the above findings about Starbucks interpersonal, organization, public communication, and culture, it is clear that any company willing to engage this company in business relationship should have a very well planned and elaborate communication platform.

The company needs to have an extensive communication strategy that allows all its stakeholders to give out their opinions and grievances in a transparent manner (Newman, Amy, Ober, and Scot, 2013, pp309). For the company to perfectly match with Starbucks culture, it should have a comprehensive plan that stands out on how it opts to give back to the community. This is because culturally, Starbucks always has a well laid down programs on how the company will give support to the community. A value that has seen the company stands at a higher level in the market than its competitors.
