It mainly majors technological services, development services and business outsourcing. It is growing over past years and currently it boasts of 87 branches all over the world. Its founding mission is the provision of strategic principles on technological industry. Wipro focus on provisions of goods and services that make it a competition edge in the technological market. Strategic form of management is the one responsible for having propelled the company to great heights (Hamm, 2007). Green initiatives undertaken by Wipro Wipro Care Program Areas where Wipro operates chips in helping the needy in the society. The main purpose of Wipro Care Program is helping in times of disaster such as floods and the needy in the society. It helps in employing local people on the company for them to benefit. Interaction of employees and local people is highly advocated. Main element for good work coordination in Wipro is healthcare of locals, environment rehabilitation and education. Education Education is a fundamental catalyst for people in the world. Wipro shares same sentiments and advocated education highly for the local communities. They sponsor children into programs and provide basic needs for a child to achieve decent education. It goes into extent of bridging schools and educates them to fill their professional expertise in the company. Eco-eye It is a green initiative by Wipro focusing on the ecological aspect of surrounding people. Wipro believes in a bright future, and ecological development is key to make the future sustainable. The initiative aims in bringing out an eco-balance in company ventures. It makes uses of cheap eco-friendly materials in production (Memphis, 2010). Healthcare It is a noble initiative that focuses on provision basic primary health requirements to the people where they are based. They collaborate with other non-governmental organizations to make it possible. They are mobile clinics that operate in their regions, help to rush pregnant women to hospitals and register them. Challenges Facing Wipro Global warming is one thing affecting Wipro. Science states that effects of global warming are storms and hurricanes. The rise of tides due to global warming and rains makes Wipro infrastructure to be compromised in the coastal cities. Flooding causes displacement of individual and workforce of Wipro at times is displaced influencing overall productivity of the company. There is the challenge of clean water that is unpolluted by company’s sewage. Another challenge facing Wipro is Industry convergence. It is consolidated in Indian mainly housing eight of its firms unlike in the rest of world parts. It is a major challenge too since other companies are well established in all world countries. Competition is increasing in the technological field. Other firms are entering the markets where Wipro is well established. They offer cheap quality services at a low cost. It hits Wipro hard and in its effort to counter that it reduces its price for its services hence overall profits are reduced. Product life cycle is another challenge facing Wipro. Product life cycle has to be complete, but some customers demand to have products and services that are in parts. It forces the management to look out on new ways to satisfy the new kind of customers. Such activities are costly and hit on them hard. Market world is changing dynamically in this 21st century. In order for a Wipro to enter a new market, many policies are involved. Some areas become impossible for Wipro to enter unless with use of sub-contractors. They represent the primary goals and objectives of Wipro. Subcontractors are expensive and hit hard on production of Wipro services. Some Subcontractors bridge the contracts at the expense of the company affecting it. There is a lot of pressure in manufacturing efficiency. The technological sector is dynamic, and technology keeps on evolving daily. Wipro pumps a lot of money on research to keep competitive with new products at any time and seek to improve the existing products. Such activates hit hard on Wipro. Foreign exchange is another problem affecting Wipro. Having contracts with other company’s means, they have to pay payments in other country’s currency. In a case, where there is a currency fluctuation by currency increasing in value in the country it may suffer unexpected costs that had not been budgeted (Mintzberg and Lambel, 2011). Other companies attract Wipro employees and have taken them from the organization. Some human resource workers are poached by prospecting companies that come to enter in areas where Wipro is already established. They offer better pay and try to steal customers by using their previous human resource that had contacts with the local customers. Benefits Green Lightening Wipro focuses on lighting their customers business. Lighting grantees a 24-hour economy and makes their clients stand a better chance of their competitors. Their customers’ buildings are well light and make use of a well lighting management system making them ideal for building performance standards. It helps in the optimization of energy performance of their clients by using green light management. Green IT solution applications E-Freight is a unique design for transporting Wipro products in the air Cargo industry. It is very effectively, and there is less fragility of their products. Unlike carrying fragile products with air means. It allows use of paperless interaction in carrying its cargo and passes over customs. Other organizations should make use of such principles. The management of workers in Wipro uses a strategic management to make them fully involved in the production and marketing areas. A worker is oriented in all fields and can work from any area. It offers flexibility for a worker to fit in all fields. It is ideal when Wipro is experience human resource shortage a work can fit in any department. Other organizations should emulate such policies. Global warming is escalating in this century. Its effects are devastating such as floods and hurricanes that misplace Wipro workers. Wipro is spearheading efforts in reducing global warming. It makes use of activities that reduce global warming such as using environment friendly materials. Degradable materials are the one mainly used by Wipro. Other organizations should emulate the working of Wipro and use it effectively. By doing so, the world will be a better place to live with few carbon emissions. Should Green Computing be Driven by IT Vendors or by Corporate Customers Green initiatives are to be driven by Vendors rather than cooperate customers since they are better placed in handling the task. Green initiatives focus on offering their loyal customers clean energy, well-managed energy services, integrated computing services and Computing. Its customer care is all round and offers the option of 360 to go green. It goes into extra hand of making their customers business go green by offerings several arrays of business. It works effectively in areas where there is a similar business and makes their customers stand out of their competitors. Wipro is a technological firm in Indian that has progressed a lot in all fields. Its history makes it ideal for it to be chosen to spear heading green computing rather that it’s corporate customers. Customer satisfaction is one of the key founding principles. The green initiatives undertaken by Wipro are of high tech. They focus on conserving the environment hence one of the ways of reducing global warming. The value the people surrounding and brings in aboard process that help the needy in the society. They offer free medication to the local communities in areas where they operate. The challenges that face Wipro are mainly competition and global warming. It affects negatively on their overall output. Global warming affects their staff and destroys their infrastructure. Competitors are trying to force them to lower prices (Gifford, 2013). The benefits Wipro gets from green computing are so many. Green computing helps in conserving the environment. It affects positively on the locals since their environment is conserved. Recycling of products is another initiative from green computing. Other organizations benefit positively from Wipro good initiatives.
