Social networking sites not only encourage couples to upload, 'tag', or share pictures but also offer them immense opportunities to convey their heartfelt messages without a word (Moreno et al., 2011). Studies have indicated that more than half of the display pictures uploaded by people in a romantic relationship comprise those depicting them in a romantic situation, helping them express their love for one another (Clark, Lee, and Boyer, 2007).

The conventional PDAs (Public Display of Affection) which couples in a romantic relationship often indulge in are now replaced by online PDAs. The traditional hand-holding and hugging is now expressed by couples online by way of “likes”, “share”, or comments. Also, studies have shown that couples in long-distance relationships often use ‘sexting’ as a way to maintain their relationships and display love and commitment to one another. Posting about one's relationship online by way of photos, likes, sharing, tagging, and pokes is an open declaration of one's commitment to their partner and an express acknowledgment or sign of their approval of one another. It is known to help such couples in distancing themselves from unnecessary advances or misunderstandings with others since the images posted online are visible to everyone they choose. It hence not only solidifies the relationship but also provides a much-needed sense of security to the couple (Marshall et al., 2009; Mansson & Myers, 2011).

The following questionnaire is based on the above findings, and the responses provided by the participants will help in affirming or disproving the same.
