"Boykin and Savina Caring Theory" is a wonderful example of a paper on care.
The theory by Boykin and Savina mainly focuses on personhood. The theory explains that a person’s humanness virtue makes them caring as the caring values are inborn in human beings. At the same time, personhood means living a life, which embraces caring. A nursing situation that can be used to illustrate this is when a nurse goes out of the line of duty to help a patient with advice regarding a situation that they are facing, which goes a long way in ensuring their wellbeing. This could be a personal matter that a patient confides in the nurse, and the nurse helps with advice on the same. As nurses, they are required to uphold caring values grounded in the concept of caring. The experiences in the nursing world need to mould nurses to practice caring to be people they are required to care for such as patients. The fact that other people also care for nurses should allow them the experience a similar feeling of caring and nurturing others. The theory explains the fact that personhood is often enhanced through the participation of nurturing relationships while caring for others. At the same time, caring is nurtured when one is given the opportunity to foster the relationship by caring for them just like their family member.

Nursing remains of the careers, which one cam exemplify the value of caring. The caring gift remains a character, which is valuable in the lives of individuals during a hopelessness state. Nursing is considered a profession, concentrates on nurturing. The nursing environment focuses on caring for their patients through knowledge acquisition by putting it into practice. The nursing environment is conceptualized as the experience between the nurse and the patient to enhance personhood, which is significant in nursing (George, 2005, p. 45). The theory is important in nursing a situation as practical knowledge is applied by the nurses when caring for their patients. Nursing embraces both the nurses and the nursed in what can be considered a nursing relationship. The theory is helpful in enhancing the quality of a patient to ensure they get back their overall health (Parker & Smith, 2010. Nursing is grounded and revolves around caring not only in the physical sense but in other aspects. At the same time, the spirit of caring is vital in the process of offering holistic care required by a patient.

The nursing theory by Boykin and Schoenhofer’s comes from the milieu of caring and imagination of the known. It suggests a personal context that takes into consideration caring experiences,  in that each person has to examine the context of the experience as a series of more meaningful events in their occurrence patterns (Parker, 2005, p. 24). The theory is a framework of reflection, which challenges nurses who practice the profession. At the same time; it challenges practising nurses to understand caring in a deep and broad dimension. The theory talks about caring from an image in relation to a creative sense. The two of them suggest an environment for personal theorizing on caring experiences while trusting the fact that those experiences are meaningful events (George, 2005, p. 56).

The theory is a platform for transforming the interaction between a nurse and client in relation to personhood. The theory has contributed to the nursing world in terms of caring as a nurse responsibility aims at nourishing the client. The implication of the theory is intimacy, and it is linked to a person’s life. Nurses need to give importance to caring for patients regardless of whether they are not their family members (Parker, 2005, p. 46). Caring is the deliberate and genuine presence of the nurse to a patient as they seek to understand how an individual might be supported in their process of care.
