Comparison between Nazi sports against Communists sports Nazi participated in all manner of sporting activity, being governed by an independent body, the Deutscher Reichsbund fur Leibesubungen, referred to in short form as DRL. This was since the body’s establishment on July 27, in the year 1934 being delegated by the government as the official Sport’s governing body. Gradually, after DRLs foundation, all German sports and affiliated to German background, lost their extreme freedom and were co-opted under the DRL as just but mere units. The main intention the formation of this high ranked governing sports body was to build a formidable Nazi affiliated sports body, to which every sports association within Germany would be submitted. For this conclusion to be arrived at before the introduction of the DRL, sporting skills were prior made a criterion for certain events, including school graduations and were also considered necessary qualification for certain other jobs as well as being necessary for admission to universities. In Europe too, emerged one other independent body governing sporting activities elsewhere in the region. This was the communism sport. The communist sports policy in Europe had dominated some of the largest parts of Europe especially during the cold war. However, this is no longer the case. It slowly collapsed giving rise to independent bodies that governed sorts throughout the countries of Europe. Communism sports however lives on in countries like China, Cuba and North Korea. Communism sport was not everywhere recognized or either practiced, in most of the national priorities of less advanced communist nations. Nations all around the world tend to recognize communist sport and more to it, adapting it. This in view of the research was mostly facilitated by its prior success soon after its establishment: this was particularly at the Olympics games that drew a considerably high level of attention worldwide. One particular and considerably remarkable but far-reaching aspect of the question at at hand, these referring to the communist sport was the evolution of an introduced model of sports that aimed at modernizing community. These too were intended at employing sports for utilarian purposes in view to promote health, defense, and hygiene issues among others. This newly introduced model that placed some attraction for nations in parts of Africa, Asia as well as Latin America was important. In majority of communist states, sports carried with it a huge revolutionary role of being an agent of social change with the state carrying the piloting role (Murray 73). Shifting sides to highlight the Nazi Sports, German sports in general, came to a clear rise in the sporting body, came up in the 1930s. This would have been prompted by several issues, among them a myth of Aryan racial superiority and physical power. The Olympics games then, being the first ever in history to cover live television. These provided an ideal setting that displayed a Nazi regime and more to that, what Hitler deemed to be his intended exploit. It would later be quoted that German sports had only one main objective, to strengthen the character of the Germans. This was to be by all means, from imbuing the country with a fighting spirit, termed to be necessary in the struggle for its existence. The Government then resulted to harnessed support for sport as part of its own drive to strengthen a particular race, to exercise political control over its citizens, in preparation of the youths for what they referred to as war. Close to all communist states faced problems of political stability. These would have its own consequences to Nation building at large, but in one way or another, had sports to be involved. As stated earlier, sports when facilitated by a common and stable value, experienced success repeatedly. With its involvement in Olympics gave a considerably high boost to this. Since a huge percentage of communist states were born in war torn situations, adverse poverty and the like. Sports were therefore subordinate to the necessary role of military training. It was also referred to as militation of sports (Murray 167). Apart from playing the role of an important training procedure in high governing levels, sports also generated income and revenue, stretching from the smallest sports institution in society level to great investments by the government as well as other major investors in international levels. In a good number of nations, the sports movement was under military and paramilitary institutions. It is also in some parts of Europe instrumented as a necessity for the defense institutions. In terms of health and hygiene, it would not be easy for just any individual to realize how many sports had its involvement buried deep in matters of health and hygiene. Physical culture in Europe stood for clean living. In this, major aspects included good health and rationality and as a result, realization of a healthy population. The Soviet pioneered main health-oriented systems concerned with sports. The World War II radically altered the role bestowed on the Nazis in Germany, in matters concerning sports. The massive rebellious events that followed that aroused nationalistic fervor. The NSRL continued to play a big role in sporting activities mostly among the youths for example. In the year 1940, it was realized that monetary funds for sporting activities such as the Kiel Week, a sailing competition were not forthcoming. As a top class sport’s governing body, seeking to control and more particularly integrate all sports activities in Germany, DRL seemingly provided a highly organized and recognized structure. After deliberations on concerns mainly about the safety of black athletes in Nazi Germany, the issue of racism was realized to be a major blow on the sporting fraternity. For one reason or another, black athletes were considered the preferred favorites, leaving the natives at a tight position in view of their safety. Discrimination against blacks would have gone unnoticed if it wasn’t for the effort made by boy-cotters in their support (Nauright 102). Communism Sports also greatly affected integration issues among involved countries. It greatly impacted on integration, and as a result, had impacts on nation building separately. With more instances of sporting activity involving different nations, these increased and improved on the relationship between the concerned parties. It would later be viewed that there was increased transition of the citizens from a rural to an urban way of life all transition leading to a new national state. In view as an example are the recorded statistics of the billions of people of china, who consist of a huge number of distinctly different ethnic groups and such, who indulge in sports in one way or another, thus resulting to economic growth. The government of this Nation for example, deliberately takes a move to revolve town sports to more recognized levels of country sports, making use of them to facilitate integration of the diverse people to the new and much preferred nation in view of promotion of patriotism. There is rapid discovery of post-totalitarian changes in majority of the areas governed under rule of communism sports mainly parts of Eastern and Central Europe. This is where it would not only seem, but would indicate as well, that an elite sports system in use, and its attainments, apart from playing the role of inspiring a national pride and patriotism tend on the other hand, to invoke high levels of apathy and resentment among many people. Sports stars were viewed as belonging to an alternative and private elit fiefdom within the overall governing domain. They would hardly be considered as part of the nationally shared achievement not to mention the heritage as well. To date, the inheritors of the previously dominating sports system in the communists countries, are faced by a tough decision to decide upon how sharply and to what extent they should break with the rule of the past, and as a result, how soon they could adopt a new pattern of sports. This is mainly based on market relations and globalization too (Nauright 138). Contrary to these, others see the past, on matters concerning both Communism and Nazi sport, not bad at all. Going ahead to describe the old system as open to concerned individuals with talent in all kinds of sports, resulting to increased opportunities, for women as well, to play and succeed majorly even to the extent of sharing more or less prospects with men. One of the themes that is observed by the Nazi is that of Cultural influence. Many of the countries in the Arab emirates and associated countries seem to have their own cultures and thus observe various rubrics that are not common to the other population. The Olympics are some of the games that make the Nazi natural as compared to other growing countries in the continent. It is common for the independent countries in the 21st century to observe the set rules and regulations provided by their specific countries (Kruger 77). One of the problems that affect the communities that live in that area is commercialism. The countries in the Asian world do not have as much commercial independence as other countries in other parts of the world. Sports assist very many countries to achieve a lot differing from economic gaining and political ones. When sports in this part of the world are affected, politics also has a hand to play in this in that the opposing countries do not have similar goals. The politics in these parts of the world have very many people coming to assist in the development of various talents that the country may perceive as opposed to other parts of the world. The Nazi have always gained recognition as a country with a lot of power from the time that Adolf Hitler used to control the state. Adolf was a man that did not entertain any type of jokes especially when it came to his country and was thus very strict on the sports ministry in terms of the country that participated in the games. Communist countries have been one of the most influential countries with regard games. In the previous years, the group of countries has always been against the views of the capitalist countries. This has acted as a major aspect in having these countries not have success in the various games such as the Olympics that are held every four years. The countries have always had a strict governance towards these games in that they find them opportunistic and that they do not accommodate all types of people in them (Kruger 113). However, the Olympics committee has always had these games natural and without any form of suitability with regard to the various countries that participate in them. The Nazi have made efforts to assure that there is the holding of free and fair games that ensure that the people that take place in them are not affected by the nationality of the countries taking part. Germany has made various advances in the fields of sports making it rather important for the countries around it to pay attention to the views of the contemporary world that make it common. It is important to have the various decisions made by the committee to be made by an unilateral group. This is important to ensure that all the decisions made by the European Committee in charge of games and also the committees that are in charge of the various activities that these countries get represented. This is one of the factors that assures safety in terms of the unity that countries share and ensures that both the different types of government are united in the games. The Nazi and the communist worlds are more of the same. This is from the fact that the two share a common original continent and it is that they have various political ideologies that support the same aspect. It is thus important to understand that the games are united and have an aim of having all the participant parties together and achieve the goal of patriotism depending on the respective countries and consecutively have a united world.
